This easy garlic and white bean hummus is so simple and delicious! It takes less than 5 minutes to make and will last about 1 week once refrigerated.
Garlic and white bean hummus is great served as a delicious appetizer or as a tasty, healthy lunch. The best part is I promise your kids will not even know they are eating beans and this quick and easy recipe will become a requested family favorite!

What is White Bean Hummus
White bean hummus is a creamy dip or spread. Hummus is a middle eastern dish, typically made with chickpeas. Can I use white beans instead of chickpeas? Absolutely! I actually prefer to use white beans or cannellini beans as I find it has a much smoother consistency. Cannellini beans have a subtle nutty flavor, which make them a great bean to use for homemade hummus. This homemade garlic and white bean hummus uses fresh parsley, garlic and lemon to bring out a beautiful combination of flavors.
Easy Recipe for White Bean Hummus
From start to finish, this recipe will take you only a few minutes to make. I promise you after you try this recipe, you will never buy store bought hummus again! Note: If you like your hummus a bit more on the spicy side, like me, then add 3 garlic cloves, but for a less spicy and more mild hummus use 1-2 cloves of garlic instead.
Ingredients
- 1 can cannellini beans
- 1 spring of fresh parsley
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
- lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon squeezed)
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions
- Drain and rinse the cannellini beans
- Blend all the ingredients together in a blender
Blend until smooth and creamy. If too dry add more EVOO, until the hummus has a smooth consistency.
Serve with pita chips or sliced vegetables of your choice. Enjoy!
