Candice and her family

Hello and Welcome!

I am so excited that you are here! As a mom of 3, I have come to love all things mindful and simple. Juggling a full-time job, 3 kids schedules and balancing a home life, I have come to appreciate any and all things that can help me to be more present and focused.

With this new passion and purpose, I created this blog to share what I have learned and what I am still learning to create a beautiful home and simply mindful life. I am so happy that you are here to join me in discovering how to live more simply, in the present mindful moment. I promise to share mindful design and home decor ideas, easy semi-homemade recipes, for mindful living and relaxing mindfulness activities for you and your whole family!

My Design Inspirations

I have always loved designing rooms and spaces. I am constantly reorganizing furniture just to update and refresh my living spaces. As a little girl, I started scrapbooking items that I wanted someday in my future home! With my passion from a young age to find joy in decorating I have discovered many inspirational decorators along the way. Two of my most favorite designers and bloggers are:

Joanna Gaines – need I say more! I love her home decor style! I would have to say that the majority of my home is inspired by her shows, books and store.

And….

Lisa from Farmhouseonboone.com – Her simple farmhouse style and love for all things homemade is truly inspirational to me!

A little background….

When I bought my 1st home with my husband, I was what I consider pretty young. I was 24 years old and very inexperienced in home decor. Although I had a love for it and collected tons of design and home decor magazines, I feel blessed that I was able to build our new home in my late 30’s and get a fresh start at creating my home decor style.

This time around I went for simple colors and a farmhouse chic vibe. I stuck to one color for all the rooms in my new home, as opposed to choosing a different color for every room. What I discovered was if you picked a simple, light palette for all of your walls, you can add pops of color to each room through your pillows and accent furniture. It creates cohesiveness in the home, while also allowing you to change your style so easily!

I picked gray owl by Benjamin Moore for all of my interior walls, which I felt made my home light and airy and then I choose Navy as my pop of color throughout my downstairs. I added a few green plants (real and artificial) and I felt this added some natural warmth and for me a feeling of happiness.

Throughout my journey I realized that I not only love decorating, but I also love helping others and sharing my style. I hope that as a blogger, I will help to inspire you to find your joy and purpose as well!
