Joanna Gaines – need I say more! I love her home decor style! I would have to say that the majority of my home is inspired by her shows, books and store.

When I bought my 1st home with my husband, I was what I consider pretty young, 24 years old, and I would probably say very inexperienced in home decor. Although I had a love for it and collected tons of design and home decor magazines, I feel blessed that I was able to build our new home in my late 30’s and get a fresh start at creating my home decor style. This time around I went for simple colors and a farmhouse chic vibe. I stuck to one color for all the rooms in my new home, as opposed to choosing a different color for every room. What I discovered was if you picked a simple, light palette for all of your walls, you can add pops of color to each room through your pillows and accent furniture. It creates cohesiveness in the home, while also allowing you to change your style so easily! I picked gray owl by Benjamin Moore for all of my interior walls, which I felt made my home light and airy and then I choose Navy as my pop of color throughout my downstairs. I added a few green plants (real and artificial) and I felt this added some natural warmth and for me a feeling of happiness. Whatever you decide for your home, I would always recommend…style to make yourself happy!
