What is Baked Brie
Brie is a soft cow’s milk cheese, originating from France. The name brie comes from the name of the French region it was made in. Aside from the technical definition, brie is a decadent cheese with a delicious, creamy inside and a white edible outside crust.
When you bake brie, it warms up and begins to melt the creamy inside of the cheese. You can bake brie as is or you can add a puffed pastry on top for a buttery, flaky crust.
What do You Serve with Baked Brie
You can simply serve this baked brie recipe as is or you can serve with crackers. I find that guests like to place a slice of this baked brie on top of a mild flavored cracker, so that the jelly and melted cheese stays on the cracker and does not spill over.
Baked brie is also a great companion to sliced fruit, such as pears and apples. You can serve the baked brie on a dish with crackers and/or sliced fruit.
Do you Take the Rind off Brie Before Baking
This is a great question! The quick answer is no; however some recipes for baked brie recommend cutting off the top crust of the brie. This is suggested as the puff pastry will stick to the cheese more if the crust is removed.
For this recipe, I do not remove the white crust and I think you will find it more enjoyable if you leave it on. The white outer crust adds a delicious flavor to the melted brie cheese and it is absolutely edible.
How to Make Baked Brie with Jam
This incredibly easy baked brie recipe takes less than 5 minutes to prep!
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Next on a baking sheet, add parchment paper. Then lay out pillsbury crescent rolls flat on the parchment paper. Press all the lined holes together.

Step 2
Place your brie on top of the flattened crescent rolls. I like to use a round shaped brie; however, you can truly use any shape brie.
Step 3
Add red pepper jelly on top of the brie. Don’t be skimpy! Make sure the whole brie is thickly covered.

Step 4
Fold the crescent rolls on top of the brie to fully cover. Pinch any holes in the dough together. You can cut away any excess dough.

Place in your preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.
